Black smokey eye always looks to harsh on me?

i see other white people with it and it looks fine, but when i do it i think the black is to harsh? and im not even that pail, how can i soften it but still use black?Black smokey eye always looks to harsh on me?
i think you should try using a charcoal gray it will still seem black but not too overpowering.


it has nothing to do with the color fo your skin it is just the size and color of your eyes

a smokey eye doesnt event have to contain black its just a technique from light to dark ...you can use like golds and some dark browns but if you want to use black I would take a nice brown color on the lid and blend it with some black...if you like MAC cosmetics then I would suggest either Woodwinked or Patina on the lid and then blend it out wih carbn...it would look great but not too harsh...it will def flatter you eyes.
this happens to me too. but i figured out how to fix it.





first of all, if you've been using the same eyeshadow brush on black and continuing using that brush, thats your problem.





when you continue using the same brush with black already on it, its just adding to heavy, much, more, black eyeshadow to the brush. once you use a brush, and put black on it, then do it the next day, dont stcik more black on the brush, just start with that. and once there is no more on the brush, get a little more on and continue.





the problem is because your going to thick





if you do this, it will look black, and none harsh on you. :)

Try using a dark grey color! Still line the upper lash line with black eyeliner, but the eyeshadow can be either dark grey or black that is blended a LOT.

there are many ways to do it with out using black. you can also use a dark purple. put the black or dark brown around the eye with eye liner smudge and apply eye shadow to make it smokey and softer
this is what i do, i use a charcoal/black eyeliner then smudge it


the more you smudge, the less you'll have if you do it right


so just see what you like.
