How do I get the dark circles under my eyes to go. I look like a freakin' raccoon.?

I am a makeup artist and this is what i think:

Dark under eye circles can be caused by fatigue, poor circulation, extra-thin skin under the eyes, hyper-pigmentation, illness or allergies. Treating the cause will help keep dark circles from coming back. In the meantime, consider the following cover-up tactics:

Steps:

1. To hide dark under eye circles, select a cosmetic under-eye concealer that's one shade lighter than the foundation you're using.

2. Understand that a pale yellowish concealer helps hide blue or grayish circles, while a light blue or mauvish concealer masks brownish under-the-eye bags.

3. Begin with a freshly washed and exfoliated face. Dab concealer under your eyes gently, using a soft circular motion.

4. Apply foundation up to the concealer and blend the two shades together gently, using a circular motion to cover dark under eye circles.

5. Finish with a dusting of untinted face powder for a polished, seamless look.

Tips:

Avoid concealers containing oils, because the oil will settle into the fine lines under your eyes and draw attention to the circles.

When using a cosmetic under eye concealer, wearing foundation is a must to avoid the ';white mask'; look.

To apply concealer:

Steps:

1. Wash your hands before handling your face. Dirt and oils on your hands will only aggravate the blemish.

2. Choose a concealer appropriate to the color and type of blemish you wish to hide. Concealer is a creamier foundation makeup with added pigments intended for specific parts of your face.

3. Pick a yellow-tinted concealer to hide red blemishes; choose a concealer a little lighter than your blemish for hiding darker marks.

4. Choose a masking cosmetic (which is thicker than concealer and has added pigment) to hide more prominent blemishes, such as small scars left from pimples or skin irregularities.

5. Apply the concealer or masking cosmetic over the blemish using your finger, an eye shadow brush or sponge.

6. Blend the edges with the surrounding skin, using a circular motion.

7. Set the masking cosmetic with a special setting powder, then apply oil-free foundation and powder on top.

Tips:

Try a cover stick, which is a stick version of a concealer. These contain a high proportion of wax to add body and thickness.

Masking cosmetics are usually not available at drugstores or beauty aid stores but can be purchased at major department stores. They're expensive, but effective.

liquid conclear...i swear by it. almay is the best that i've tried. it's waterproof and last for 16 hours. you put it on, let it dry, and put a light eyeshadow over it and you're good to go.How do I get the dark circles under my eyes to go. I look like a freakin' raccoon.?
Get some sleep...
It varies from person, to person, though.

For some, just adding a few more hours in their sleep lightens the dark circles.

Others change their diets and eat healthier (and exercise).

Some apply creams (from the magazines I have read, they claim Hylexin works).

While you're still figuring out which one works best for you, you can apply undereye concealer so you'll still look fresh.

I personally love Estee Lauder's. It's longlasting and isn't sticky. It dries faster than cream so you won't have to keep on pulling the skin under your eyes (increases chances of more wrinkles)
I go to bed earlier. If I don't get at least 8.5 to 9 hours in the bed with the lights out, not necessarily sleeping, I get them too. Also, I've heard that dark circles can be caused by allergies.
i need an answer to this too.. but it's not from a lack of sleep.. puffyness is lack of sleep.. but.... i saw this article in the parade magazine that said it had something to do with blood coming to the surface of your skin.. i mean.. that's not the technical way they said it.. but that's pretty much what they said
Most likely it involves a lack of sleep.
I had a similar problem. All you have to do is

A) Soak a washcloth in freezing cold water, and lay it over your eyes for 10 minuites

B) Get more sleep

C) The frozen spoon method works as well

D) There are eye masks you can buy that get rid of puffiness and dark circles

Any one of these (or more than one) will work! HAVE FUN!
cut a raw potatoe(circle size), get 2 pieces, put them over ur eyes for 15 minutes and u should be good
clariton, nasonex, hylexin, and stop having any dairy. and sleep a lot.
Well what I do is apply conclear/foundation (I personal use true blend foundation). Then after use a blush that is around the same as your skin tone and brush it under your eyes it doesn't completely make it go away but it helps alot.
A quick fix is, Cream Concealer. i prefer maybelline Cover Stick also their is a cream called ';Nivea Visage - Anti - shadow eye creme'; it clears it up within a week or so. drink plenty of water and get a minium of 6 hours of sleep a night
use n.y.c cover stick you dab it on the dark circles and then blend it with powder if u dont blend it, it will look yellow(yuck!)
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.
